Our reading recommendations of the week #4 – 2019

Welcome to our new weekly recommendations. This week features:

  • Testing your contracts
  • The need for testing strategy / test plan document
  • Breaking the Test Case Addiction

If your company is providing endpoints for one or many consumers and need to test it, where would you start? Steven Burton shares his overall vision in Testing your contracts – Part 1 of 5. Stay tuned for the upcoming posts which will probably be more detailed!

You may have been asked at some point to provide a big detailed document explaining your test strategy, or detailed test plan. If you are amongst the testers who question the real use of such details, given the time spent to draw them, you will be interested to read what Bhagya Perera thinks: The need for testing strategy document and Test plan : Does it need to be a detailed document?

Finally, another controversial topic: the Test Case Addiction. This post in four parts from Michael Bolton will surely give you more insight on where test case fits in our overall testing job and the goals it can serve: Breaking the Test Case Addiction – Part 1.

Thank you for reading us and see you next time!
